A photo shoot.

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

A friend recently asked me to model for her, for her new portfolio, which of course I jumped at the chance!

Here are just some of the shots from the day!

I am due to have another shoot with my friend, as we lost the light and she didn’t get the shots she wanted.

Next time I hope to be back with some cards! :)

Thanks again for stopping by.

Let the Cute begin

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

Its been so long since Ive actually created anything, that when Cait (9) asked me if we could create yesterday, I said of course! Well she got started quite easily, but I had  quite a bit of difficulty! I must have stood in my craft room for a good 10 minutes wondering where to start, as Ive still not really sorted it out from when we shifted late December!  Cait had a great idea, to lay out all my stamp sets and go from there! Clever girl! :)

I found a stamp set that I like to use for new baby’s and went from there. Emma, from the Church that I attend, had baby Phoebe on the 4 January, this card is very late, but here it is! I wanted to use some bright colours and pretty dsp.

I couldnt for the life of me find anything to buy Phoebe, so I just made her something. Its not quite what I had in mind, but it ties in with the card, so I guess its ok! :)

Thanks again for stopping by!

**EDIT! Emma loved the card and gift! :) She loves handmade items, so I obviously didnt find a gift for a reason! :)

I am a work in progress

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

This is a personal post about my weight loss journey. I guess I have to start at the start and tell you a little story, or not so little as it turns out :)

Growing up I was always the skinny sister, I ate what I wanted and stayed slim! I played hockey, loved to swim and run, so I guess I was fairly active.

In Jan 1995, I left home in Nelson, NZ to live in Tauranga, NZ for 3 months, to live on a ship called the M/V Island Mercy, with Youth With A Mission. Having never met any of the 70 or so people on board it was a huge learning curve! The first 12 weeks we spent in port at Tauranga learning about God, our relationship with him and dealing with our past hurts and issues etc. It was pretty intense!

When I went on board I was 64Kg, when I went home after the 12 weeks of study, I was 60Kg, due to not wanting to eat the food on board, as I found it disgusting! (If you spoke to my Mum, I was not a fussy eater!) After sailing the Pacific and sharing our faith with the Tongan and Fijian people (and surviving on Popcorn and Watermelon) for 8 weeks and arriving in Newcastle, Australia I was a mere 56Kg. The following 2 weeks were spent in Newcastle where all I seemed to want to eat was KFC, McD’s and any type of takeaway food I could get my hands on. Within a few short months of returning to my home town Nelson, NZ my weight soared to 85Kg.

** Can I just say that I loved and hated my time on DTC (Discipleship Training Course), it was a huge 5 1/2 months! But the life long friends Ive made I wouldnt change for anything! I treasured my time getting closer to God and learning more of his Father heart! The food, the sea sickness, the 30 second showers, the cramped living quarters were just all part of life on the ship! **

Fast forward a few years, I went to Weight Watchers for 3 months with a friend and learnt how to eat more healthily, I started exercising and I managed to get my weight down to a respectable level – 74Kg. I was happy with my weight at 74Kg!

Zoom to 2001 when I fell pregnant with Hamish, I gained 17Kg, I never really got rid of that weight. Dealing with Post natal depression I turned to food and alcohol as a form of escape (I wasnt breastfeeding).

2003 when I was pregnant with Cait I only put on 6Kg, as I was very stressed, still depressed and not sleeping. When I gave birth, everyone kept telling me how well I was looking and how Id seemed to have lost my pregnancy weight, so I thought oh good! :) I can eat more!

2005 when we come to Australia, I started my health kick again and started exercising, reducing my food intake etc. I was sitting at 80Kg and was quite happy with that weight.

Fast forward 4 or so years I found a love for Stones Green Ginger Wine! In 9 months I put on 30Kg! **I will never touch that stuff again!**

After travelling Australia for a while and returning home to Redland Bay, Brisbane, July 2011 I was sitting at a staggering 103Kg! I had actually lost some weight, but with the support of my best friend, who had encouraged me to join her at Curves, and a reluctant – give it a go, from hubby – I started on the Circuit 4 to 5 times a week. Over the months the kilos came off, after 8Kg I was feeling wonderful! After 15Kg awesome! I kept exercising, eating properly and keeping the drinking to a low amount. 14 months on from when I started at Curves I was 18Kg lighter! **Thank God for Curves!**

Wanting more than what Curves could offer me, I left and went to Healthworks where I am currently sitting on 80Kg, with a goal to lose another 6kg. I work out most days with 1 rest day. When friends and family ask when Im going to stop, I say never! Im in it for life! I love it! Its part of who I am now.

So thats it, my journey so far, I have a little way to go, I like to say that I am a work in progress! Some friends have called me skinny, Im certainly not that and never will be, I dont want to be skinny! I want to maintain a healthy weight and be active. I am appreciative of the positive support that my friends and family have shown me. I hope in my journey I can offer you some encouragement.

Many blessings! :)

Happy Birthday Bella

500
Hi there and thanks for stopping by.

Its been a while! I hope you had a great Christmas! And Happy New Year to you! :)

On the last day of school, 14 December, it was a friend’s daughter’s 5th birthday! I had to dive into my stash, as we were in the process of packing to move (yet again!)

This card is a bit speesh, as it was the first Stampin’ Up! card that I EVER made! Created by my friend Kerry! :) Hi Kerry – waving madly, at her Sister’s house – Hi Tara! :)

So anyway this is the card that I gave to Bella! I was going to keep it as a special momento – but in the end I decided to give it to her, as I have a stash of 100 or more cards!

As we have now moved, I hope to be sorting out my craft room soon.

Thanks to my faithful few followers who have not given up on me yet! :)

New Year blessings to you and yours!

See you again soon! :)

A visit from Robyn

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

My friend Robyn came to visit me a couple of days ago, it was lovely to see her, after 5 weeks.

I knew in my mind what I wanted to work on – a thankyou card and a Christmas card for Cait’s Teacher, Sue. She loves green, and as I love green too, I find it easy to create! :)

The thankyou card has turned out pretty much how I envisioned, Im thinking it does need some ribbon or something?! But Im not fluffing round with it and the Christmas card is not quite what I envisioned, but Im actually pretty happy with it.

Thats it from me for now, take care! :)

A commissioned To teach

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

Ive made Cait’s Teacher a couple of cards recently to let her know how much I really appreciate all she does, last week she asked me to make a Blue To teach card, so this is what I come up with. It is pretty basic, but Sue really liked it! :)

Its using a variety of different products from my stash!

I hope to be back soon! :)

Too elementary?

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

Cait (8, nearly 9) and I are trying to organise our stamping space! We worked together most of yesterday afternoon to sort through boxes and stamps etc. She has created a door hanger, which I will share at a later time. She had her desk and I had mine. It was quite nice to be in there together! The boys both watched tv.

Ive had something in my mind for the past few weeks for Cait’s Teacher, Mrs Rampton. She loves green, much like myself! And she loves the quote I used on her last card.  So here it is! Now that Ive actually done it, Im thinking it looks too elementary! But anyway here it is, Im sure she will like it.

Thanks for stopping by, be back soon! :)

Slowly getting organised

Hi there and thanks for stopping by.

Ive had my book shelf for about a month. Hubby told me not to put anything on it, until he had attached it to the wall. But as he still has not done that, Ive loaded it up today!

I only have 2 clients this week, compared to 5, so I hope to be crafting in the next few days! :)

Thanks again for stopping by, I’ll be back soon! :)

I am a fussy girl!

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

As you know Ive been having Kaszazz workshops with my lovely friend Lorraine. :) Last night my friend Kathy and I went to the Lovely Lorraine’s to complete a page of my choice. Lorraines looked stunning and I loved hers! :) Mine, well! Lets just say I was disappointed at last nights efforts. I was very tired and had had a rough day. If I hadnt have had plans I would have gone to bed!

But today thankfully, it does look ok! :) Im always quite critical of my own work (like most of us). My mission today, if I chose to accept it, is to find a photo of myself for the layout!

Thanks so much Lorraine and Kathy for putting up with me last night.

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!
